Art journal using the magic stamp

Hello peeps,

Today I have a little bit of art journaling to show you - now, I'm a beginner in art journal and mostly admire others' work rather than do my own, but I'm hoping I'm learning. So far, it's mainly been a bit of paint or spray and some stamping. Since the discovery of modeling paste and The crafter's workshop stencils... What can I tell you, it's a whole new world opening. But I wish for the pages to stay flat and less bulky, so I thought why not try to add depht with my new magic stamp from MB's Treasurista. I had the best time trying to come up with impressions and I really liked the chain and the coins. But how would I incorporate those in some art journaling?

Anyhow, without further due - behold the result:)

Now, I stamped the heck out of the poor background. But I just couldn't help myself:)
I was so please with the result, I got so much seemed going on at the same time and still the page is completly flat!
Ink: Adirondack dye ink in espresso, hazelnut and juniper; archival ink in coffee
Stamp: Magic stamp! Vintage finds, Teresa Collins, Kaisercraft old lampost and butterflies, tim Holtz red rubber cling

Products from MB's Treasurista store:
Magic stamp
Clear stamp Vintage finds #1, Teresa Collins
Clear stamp Vintage finds #2, Teresa Collins

But, don't forget that Misty will custom make you an order if you can not find what you're looking for. You might be familiar with the Tim Holtz cataloge, where you will find both the ink and the red rubber cling stamp sets. But she is also able to get you Kaisercraft - thus basically able to provide you with every product I used to create this art journal page. I'm sure she can even get you an art journal if you don't have one already - LOL!

Teach me Tuesday with MB's Treasurista - Magic stamp tutorial

Hi eveyone!

I'm here to show you how to work the magic stamp.
It may not look much, but it's so versitile:)
The possibilities are endless, you will basically be able to make your own stamp with what ever you're in the mood for... or what ever material you have avalialbe.

Let me tell you how it works:

Heat - The first thing you must do is to heat the foam. You will see the foam react to the warmth and be more porose.

Press - after it's heated, gently press it to a surface of your choice. But it should have some kind of structure to it. Think beads, coins, linen texture or even cooking rise. You can also try chains or gears, anything that will leave an impression in the foam. Also remember that the stamped image will be reversed.

Stamp - now it works like any foam stamp as usual. Just ink it with your ink of choice, I used dye ink from adirondack. I found that I liked it better to rub or brush the ink pad against the stamp rather than to tap it as I normally do.

Clean - Just as you would with any normal stamp, just clean it - here I used a baby wipe. No either you keep it like this and use it again and again and again or until you wish to make a new stamp.

Heat again - if  you reheat the foam, the stamp will return to it's original shape and you can make another impression. That's the magic!

As it's very inexpensive you could easily afford having a number of your own personal stamps, but also as it's so versatile, the value for money is unbelieveble :D

So I hope you give it a try, let me know if you have any questions and I will try my best to help you.

Please visit MB's Treasurista to buy your own magic stamp and more.

Anyone for Anya Challenge - recycled

There is a new challenge ready for you at Anyone for Anya and this week is all about recycling!!!

The base of my card is packaging from a new bed linen set, since it was linen structure I just couldn't throw it away:) Just as luck that it would match the bling that fell of my niece's bracelet one day.

I coloured Cheeky Geeky to match the bed set packaging and to brighten the card I used this super cute paper with flowers and butterflies that I got in a RAK from my lovely friend Tina, Ivory Moon. The ribbon is bias binding that I received in the same RAK:)

The only embellishments I used here was to layer some bling mesh on top of the ribbon and add a cluster of paper flowers. Naturally I could not resist die cutting the wafer thin dies from the latest release at the greeting farm
 -
enjoy!

(My bad, I forgot to mention I'm entering this card in TGF's - FFF flowers)

Exciting news

Hi everyone!!!

I have some really exciting news to share with you all today!!!

I have been asked to join the design team for Anyone for Anya *happy dance*
This is a very special occasion for me as TGF stamps are the very reason I got into colouring images.

I was hooked as soon as I laid my eyes on Cheeky mate and Miss Anya Hats off, since then my collection has grown wildly and now also contains both creepers crew and a couple of beans. The latest addition is Alice Bean and the delicate words die. But the wishlist just keeps going - lol!

This week we challenge you with a sketch, here is my take.

I used the set rain, snow, shine (Rain) and coloured her with my copics to match the design papers from Simple stories baby set, an old paper pad 6x6 in my stash.

The blue and green background is just simple cardstock from my stash, as are the baby blue glittered brads. For the larger circles I've used Spellbinders lacey circles and Sizzix framelites circles and the smaller layered circles are punched out with Martha Stewart 1" circle and scalloped circle.

I've entered this card in TGF retro-fresh challenge - polka dots and/or plaids

To join us at Anyone for Anya, please upload your card HERE.
Gook luck, can't wait to see your creations!

Magnolia love (DT post for The Rubber Buggy)

Hi all!

It's been a while since I had the chance to play with this awesome and super adorable sweetie, Bubbling Tilda. I had the best time putting this card together and had several inspiration sources, see list below.

I coloured her with my copics (a growing collection) and some other alcohol pens.
Skin: E50, ivory, satin, R01
Dress: C0, C1, C3
Hair: E50, E53, E55, E57
Wings: R000, C0

To create some structure and interesting elements I used glossy accent crackle medium on her wings and some diamond stickles. Spring is trying to come through here in Gothenburg, so I was inspired by the colours and the light - which I hope shows in my card.

The layout of the card is based on MFTWSC119 sketch, although I turned it over.
For a oval die cuts check out the store. Here I used spellbinders label 10, but Kellie stock gorgeous decorative ovals on the website both from Spellbinders as well as MFT. I created a little cluster of flowers and sprays using the Magnolia chandilier garland in green and wild orchid flowers. The colours were just wonderful, so I could not resist adding sprays from MB's tresurista.

To soften the card I layered pearl centered lace from the store on top of grossgrain ribbon. I created a banner using MFT banner dies to hold the sentiment SMILE from TGF's newest release.

I finished the inside as well, I stamped the image again in distress ink tattered rose, to make it seem like a watermark.

Products from the store:
Bubbling Tilda
Copic markers
Magnolia chandilier garland, green
WOC cherry blossoms, coloured with LSG salt water taffy starburst spray
WOC open rose 10mm, coloured with LSG salt water taffy magical
WOC open rose 15mm, coloured with LSG salt water taffy magical
Spellbinder & MFT dies
distress ink, tattered rose

Lace challenge at The Rubber Buggy

Hi all!
We have a new challenge at The Rubber Buggy - this month is all about LACE.

So I dug up Prima Almanac collection 6x6 again, but I would like to state that my latest card using this paper has been quite varied in style. It all depends on the accessories - LOL!

Here there are a lot of layering going on. Paper wise I have layered three MFT decorative doilies on top of each other. I have one layer of grossgain and satin ribbon, but it looked empty and I added some leaf pearl trim in pink from MB's Tresurista. At the top of the card I layered three different styles of lace from my stash.

In the cluster of paper flowers I have also die cut some MFT leafy flourish as sprays.
I stamped "Have a great day" in archival jet black and topped it of with lots of flat back pearls in different sizes and colours.

Products from The Rubber Buggy store:
Prima Almanac collection 6x6
MFT decorative doily die-namics
MFT leafy flourish
Grossgain ribbon
Stamping supplies (Tape, ink, tools)

Thanks for visiting!
Can't wait to see your creations:)

Masculine card, DT Post for The Rubber Buggy

Ok, birthday card for my HTB's (hubby-to-be) 91 year old grandpa...
Masculine
No English
No fuss or frill
Quite a challenge, huh...

Oboy... What to do?!
Well...Da-da-da! Prima Engraver to the resque:)

The feeling of the paper is perfect for a 91-year-old, don't you agree. And there are ton of elements to cut out. Here I used a map, a pocket watch and the numbers 9 and 1.

I distressed everything quite heavily and edged it with vintage photo, distress ink.
As embellishment I glossy accented the watch and popped it in the corner. I tied some twine and made a banner which I wrote warmest congratulations as a sentiment. Of the numbers I made brads with Papermania bradmaking set and as my masculine embellishment - no flower, no trim:) - I used Tim holtz metal gears - jackpot, don't you think!

I stamped the background paper, also from the Engraver paper pad, with some script and Magnolia chicken wire. It's unbelieveble how versatile this stamp is - doesn't it look really industrial stamped in the corners with Ranger Archival ink in Jet black?

I hope you liked it, thank you for visiting!
Don't forget to check out The Rubber Buggy store - lots of new goodies=D

I also have the pleasure to tell you that I'm on for another term with the design team for The Rubber Buggy as well!!
*Happy dance*
This is a great honour as I presume then I did well the last term:)
I'm thrilled as I've learned so much oh this team as well - I would not have played with Magnolia or Saturated Carnary would it not for Kellie.

So I'll be seeing you;)

MB's Treasurista Pin Inspired Creative Contest

Hi peeps!

So glad you could join me for my first apperance at MB's Treasurista.

Today we have a contest, which means that there's no random drawing for the winner, but an acutal voting system - most likes wins:) So there's great honor in this month's challenge! Besides honor, let's be honest, the prize is a packed set of Secret Garden collection by Graphic 45 -now that's goodies:)

Our contest is to make a project inspired by this photo.

To get you started, I made a card. I was drawn to the wonderful colours of light teal, precious pink and the softness of the photo. I also noticed the script, numbers and ledgers in the elements.

The background of the card is designer paper from Prima script and ledger pad. You can find all other products in Misty's store.

Since there was plenty of lace and satin on the photo I thought it be perfect to use the vintage drip lacethe ruffled satin n' lilly lace and the white ruffled eyelet lace. I coloured the eyelet lace with LSG fuzzy navel peach, but the magic happend when I removed the upper net that keeps the lace ruffled and "unruffled" it. It made an amazing background to the satin lace in ivory. On top of the satin I hot glued flat back trim in mint and light pink.

Misty sent me cherry blossoms in a 2-tone champagne and pink colour. They were gorgeous! The only thing I did was to bling them up a bit with Tim Holtz perfect pearls in biscotti. To give the green leaf the same subtle feeling as the rest of the card I gessoed the leaf and then put biscotti perfect pearl on it as well. But I contrasted it with 10mm flat back pearls in vibrant water blue, pink and champagne. I aslo out a cascade of round pearl sprays in ivory and light pink.

I also put a glassine bag to work as a pocket with a tag in. On top of it I just put a tiny cameo in peach pink with a hibiscus on. Also available in turqouise.

Inside of card

Products used from MB's Treasurista store:
Flat back trim (mint, light pink)
10mm flat back pearls (water blue, pink, champagne)

Mermaid Tilda

Hi everyone!

This little sweetie and friend is Magnolia pearl.

I have used my copics again, what else:)
Colours used:
BG09, 11,13
E33, 35, 57
R01,  pastel pink, cocktail pink and antique pink (promarkers)
E00, ivory and blush (promarkers)

The ocean-like background is actually acrylic paint, Lumiere pearl turqouise and sunset gold. If you look closely, you can spot that I also used Magnolia chicken wire as fishing net in the outer edges. I embossed it with Lindy's stamp gang Angel wings gold.

The bubbles around Tilda that I could not fussy cut, I stamped on the background and filled with pearl maker. Originally it was mint green, but I now fear that the colour has changed somewhat during the years, since it looks more blue... I've used it on another card for TRB, HERE. I also put stickles on her tail.

I embellished the card with die cuts MFT leafy flourish, also availiable in the store, as sea weed and I fussy cut some star fishes and shells from another sea set in my stash. The paper flowers are coloured with LSG Fuzzy navel peach.
I also coloured some lace with pearl center from the store with LSG sea grass green, love how the green makes it melt in among burlap and sea weed and just leaves a trail of pearls.

My next stamp to get will be Magnolia oyster with pearl, to make her sit on the edge:) Wouldn't that just be adorable? (I'm sorry for the poor quality of the pics, my computer crashed and I don't have access to any photoediting at the moment - fingers crossed, it will soon be fixed)

Products used from the store:
Magnolia pearl
copic markers
Magnolia chicken wire
lace with pearl center
paper flowers
MFT leafy flourish,
Stamping supplies (ink, paper, scor-tape)

Thank you for visiting!
Hugs Pi
