Project life spread for The Rubber Buggy

Hi everyone!

I'm here with a project life spread for The Rubber Buggy.
Maybe you recognise the layout from last week's post, where I showed you how I already in my planner start my process. You can read more HERE.

For my title card I have used Lawn Fawn paper and stickers from Simple stories. I print my photos to fill the pockets, but really like to add a sticker phrase. I love the phrase from Simple stories as I reflect over just how much colour has been added to my life since I became a mother.
With Lawn Fawn stamps I made my own journaling card where I'm checking of signs of spring. I also added the same stamps in order to tell a story about a doctors appointment. I love how the distress ink was a perfect match to the Lawn Fawn paper.

Travel album part 5: Finishing touches

Hi everyone!

So here is the last session of my mini serie, travel album.

I'm just adding the finishing touches, putting some more embellishment where there is space left.
This is my normal process. I make sure I get the photos and stories down, then I fill the pockets if there are any left and then I embellish, if I have time.

I'm sure there are many of us, who juggle both work and family, so you try to get as much done in the little time you get.

Travel album part 4: More process

This week I really feel that I have grown in my process. Usually I'm not a quick embellisher and it takes me litterly hours to make one filler card. But this time I'm super happy with what I made and it came together so easy. It must be that everything is already coordinating. This is bad new for my huge stash that will just continuing sitting there as I will start buying collections from now on - LOL!

travel album part 3: The process continues

Hi everyone!

I'm continuing with my travel album.
You can find the set up plan HERE and the first process video HERE.

This week I found I was more true to my own style.

In short, I have learned that I don't have the time to overthink or put to much effort in finding the perfect balance or even a straight line. Thus I have been forced to embrace the imperfection.
I have learned that in the end I'm glad that I have the story told, rather than focus on everything that could have been better layout-wise.

My goal is to fill the pockets and I do that by starting with the largest photos and continuing with the smaller. Then I add my jounaling, then I add my filler cards and last I embellish.

However, I do only manage to print a couple of photos at the time, otherwise I will forget how I intended to put them together. Thus, pending back and fourth between the steps I just told you about.

Travel album part 2: The documenting begins

Hi everyone!

I'm here with a process video of the first pages of my travel album.
You can find the set up plan HERE.

For the first page you'll see me quickly pimp some of the snap cards.
Then the second page is mainly photos and I change the card I put there in the set up part.
I have some trouble placing the letters "CINQUE TERRE" and that takes me forever, I almost gave up. I have printed a map to the snap page which I want to highlight, so I added a geotag where we started. I also used some die cuts from the snap pack and enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed the process and will come back for more next week.
I'm having a bit of stage fright, when the camera is recording, so I'll  see how I proceed :)

Travel album part 1: set up

Hi everyone!

I'm starting a new process serie where you can follow me making a travel album.

This will hold my vacation to Italy in 2010, so it's been on my to do list for a while - LOL!
I have shared a couple of 12x12 layouts earlier during my time on the design team. But I have lately discovered that I enjoy pocketed scrapbooking more as I get more memories documented faster. I would never have managed to get my baby's first album done by now if I were to document everything in 12x12 layouts. I'll be sharing some of my project life too soon.

A day in the life for The Rubber Buggy

Hi everyone!

I'm here with my design team project for The Rubber Buggy. Did you know a lot of the products can be used for pocketed scrapbooking?

I'm trying Ali Edwards concept of documenting an entire day in your life. You can find her approach to it HERE. I love her ideas for documenting and preserving memories and thought I give it a go. But I downsized it quite a bit.

I used Lawn Fawn's ink to watercolor with and made my own set of pocketed cards. The exception being my 4x6 card that I made from a Maja Design 6x6 paper. The rest is really easy peasy with such great products. I played some with Love you a latte and put some coffee cups next to a photo of our breakfast. With the alpha stamp & die set from Lawn Fawn I can put together whatever sentiment I wish to. But there are great sentiments in the set from Wplus9 aswell. I used the sentiments "Thanks a bunch" for the teeth marks I got in my finger and "You are such a blessing" for night time.

Belated december daily for the Rubber Buggy

Hi everyone!

Yikes! Time does fly, doesn't it?
Can you believe that we're already past one a half month into 2015?

I have just finished my December daily and I'm a bit disappointed in myself, but I'll learn from my mistakes and am just glad to get it done, at the moment...

This was my first serious attempt, I've been watching other people's Dec daily on youtube and was really excited. But I chose the wrong format. I was trying to fit it in my 12x12 PL album, thinking that it would work on a weekly basis as my regular PL - well... WRONG!!!

I had the worst time trying to fit photos, journaling and embellishment in that small space... I should have known better... My regular PL contains alot of photos. I probably has thousands of photos of my darling, now 4 months old (?!), baby boy. At last, hybrid scrapbooking turned out to be the solution. So I have been fiddeling with photoshop too...

Next year I will try to make a 12x12 per day instead. I got the wonderful idea from this talented lady on youtube. Nicole911 - you probably already know her ;)
And the best part is, I can get started much much earlier than December. I did consider chucking my poor attempt for 2014 and start over. But as I'm including it in my son's "first year" I didn't want it to take up so much space, compared to the rest of the year.

I have to admit, the photos lies - as I don't want to show photos of my baby (oh, believe me. I do want to show him off, but am afraid the pics could end up in wrongful hands), I have added some other more neutral pics.
