Hi everyone!
If you follow me or Gloria Stengel you probably know I'm am one of the blessed to guest design for her awesome challenge blog for the month of May :)
The second challenge of May is to show us some metal or glass on your project!
I loved this one - I've been really impressed with both the projects and hauls showed out there and let's just say it is contagious - LOL!
So again, down I dive in my stash and I'm surprised to say - it's quite large! It must have miraculously grown in the dark of my closet :D
(Well, maybe all the draws from my bank account would prove otherwise - but we don't need to talk about that, do we?)
Anyway, here's what I came up with!
The background is a kraft cardstock stamped with gears from Technique Tuesday and I embossed the left corner in LSG midnight pewter - really liked the metallic look of that embossing powder! Wished I had done the entire background, not just the corner. But now I know better next time!
Layered on top of that background is a cardstock dry embossed with a Tim Holtz impression folder from the set gears and clocks, distressed with vintage photo. That is pretty much it, the rest is embellishment mostly metal.
You see a lot of Tim Holtz and some Prima, but also a couple of filigree that I actually found quite cheap in Sweden - who knew? Mostly our range of supplies is quite limited and very very pricey.
Thank you for visiting!
I can't wait to see what you talented peeps come up with.
This card is just perfect for this challenge! Talk about inspiring?!
ReplyDeleteYou used the best metal pieces, and I think there's a piece of blue glass? I'm going to see if there is a larger image in Google because your backgrounds and foregrounds really cry out to be scrutinized. I agree that your embossing powder is awesome, and really plays up the metal theme. This is just a fabulous card.
P.S. So glad you mentioned procuring your metal filigree. I've been looking for a way to go to Sweden and save a bundle on crafting supplies. I'll blame the whole trip on you. ;)
I love all the different metal pieces! I love collecting metal, and then I hoard it because it is so expensive that I hate to "waste" it. Great project. Thanks again for being one of the guest DT at Craft Hoarders. It has been such a pleasure!!
ReplyDeleteYou have outdone yourself. This is just gorgeous. I love all the metal pieces you used and I especially love those corner pieces! Thanks for being a guest designer at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool collage of metal loveliness! So glad I hopped over from CHAC.
