Mixed media

Hi there!

So this is my first shot at a mixed media canvas.

This was meant to be my project for the youtube hop MB's Treasurista hosted previous this month, but those of you who remembers, the requirements where white with a splash of two colours.

Let me tell you thou, there are only two colours, but I gessoed the canvas as to prep it and then I wanted to mod podge the spray. I have no idea what happend, but firstly, I could see the spray react with the gesso and when I had managed to even that out it was very much lighter than the peach spray I had in mind. As I also had intention to spray it with green Lindy's i wanted to seal it. So naturally, the colour reacted with the sealing as well and there, I had yellow for some reason?! On a try-out the sealing didn't work wonder so I had hopes that I would be able to correct it when I sprayed away later (when everything was glued down), but don't you think that now, why not, the sealing worked and nothing would stick to it...

Oh well, it grow on me after a while and now I'm almost liking it :D

Teach me Tuesday at MB's Treasurista, creative gift wrapping

Hi everyone!

I'm sharing my way of giftwrapping bottles today.

Don't you just think that the gift bags for wine bottles are just boring and dull?
And it's not that it's a surprise when you pull out the bottle, the bag pretty much says it all.
Yet, it's so easy to bring a bottle of nice wine as a gift for the hostess - instead of a flower.

So I came up with this easy way of altering the bottle, without ruining the label.

The first time I did it I used layers of paper and stamped the sentiment. MB's Treasurista has amazing wide lace, which I used instead of paper. You can compare HERE.

But this is all it takes:

To become this:

 Here's how I did:
As I wanted to use lace instead of paper, I still need to back it with paper. This is just to prevent the glue from sticking to the bottle. You want to keep the wrapping removeble.

To make the lace wrapping I set the edges with eyelets using my crop-o-dile, just eyeballing how many and the width in between them.

I then place everything that I need a flat surface for. If I'd used paper instead of leaves, this is when I would stamp the background or distress the edges.

I then lace the wrapping around the bottle with ribbon and twine. Making sure it's tight enough not to slip and then I tie a bow.

Now it's just to glue everything to the wrapping with your glue gun - that's it, easy peasy!

Products used from MB's Treasurista:
White wide scalloped lace
Twine, cappuchino & carribean
Sm. eyelet lace with ribbon, celadon
Mulberry trellis roses
Sweetheart blossom, light pink
Cherry blossoms, Mulberry, 2-tone champagne/pink
Mulberry green leaves
Round pearl bead spray, ivory & pink
Heart pearl trim, white
Mesh bling, brown
3-tone wheat leave spray, fuchsia
Lg Clear crystal stick pin
Clear acrylic butterfly bead
Small acrylic flower with stamen
Lindy's stamp gang a bit o´bubbly
LSG saltwater taffy & cape cod coral
Prima lyric 6x6 paper pad
Scor tape

Thank you for visiting!
You can watch me as I make the bottle with the mesh bling in brown from start to finish on youtube.

Have a great and creative day!

Wedding challenge @Anyone for Anya

Hi everyone!

There are wedding bells ringing at Anyone for Anya this week:)

As I don't have any wedding stamps, neither images or sentiments I decided to make a honeymoon card with my favorite from Anya hats off set. I love this Anya, she looks so sophisticaded and collected.

I coloured her with my copics in light gray, just trying to make some shadows as I wanted her to look like she's all in white. I'm kind of pleased with the result as a beginner copicer :)

I've been on the lookout for suitcases to put her on since I bought the stamp set several years ago, but I could never find the right size. However,  recently I came across Tiddly inks stamps and on their website this set was a digital freebie - yay! If you'd like one too, you can find it HERE

To create some texture on the background I've dry embossed the first layer and heat embossed the die cut background.

To embellish the card I used products from MB's Treasurista. A great place to top up those goodie drawers :) She has a super long supplylist of manufactors, if you can't find it on her website, just email her and she will make you a custom order - this way you can save on shipping as it's only one stop shop :)

Thinking of... MB's treasurista

Hi again!

Hope You all are having a great and inspiring day!
Today I have a great card to show you, although the occasion is sad.

My fellow design team member for MB's Treasurista, the always lovely Leslie, recently lost her mother unexpectedly. Thus, the ladies at Creating a Crafty Life had the brilliant idea to send Leslie some thoughtful creations to show our support and love for her.

Here is my card, thinking of you.

I wanted to make something classic and elegant. So I quickly decided that I would go black and white to keep it simple and clean. In order to gain more depth I dry embossed white cardstock and sprayed it full with perfect pearl. I love the shimmer it leaves. I hid the edge under flatback pearl trim in white from MB's Treasurista's store.

The small white cherub is resting on notes from Vintage finds, Teresa Collins, which are embossed with Lindy's stamp gang embossing powder in Angel wings gold. You can find all these items in Misty's store:)

The cluster of flowers is a mix of oldies but goodies and hip rose buds. I cut a round pearl bead spray in half and stuck the pieces under the paper flowers. To tone the green mulberry leaves I gessoed them lightly. All papers flowers and leaves are sprayed with perfect pearl for shimmer. I had an idea to use the acrylic dimond gems as morning drops of the leaves, but I ended up sticking them underneath the flowers.

The inside of the card is very simple and I only embossed
Tim Holtz birds in LSG angel wings gold.

Products used from MB's Treasurista store:
acrylic dimond gems
flatback pearl trim
green mulberry leaves
hip rose buds
small white cherub
round pearl bead spray
Vintage finds vintage finds, Teresa Collins

Talk to Misty:
Lindy's stamp gang embossing powder, Angel wings gold

Magnolia flower tag with G45 elements from The Rubber Buggy

Hi all!

I haven't made a tag in what seems like forever.
I think I went a bit over board - LOL!

I started by stamping Magnolia chicken wire underneath the Magnolia paper rose ornament from once upon a time. This paper is so shabby that you could just use the paper, but for some reason I just can't help but to tear and tug it a bit more. The Magnolia paper is distressed with Tim Holtz weathered wood and the tag is distressed with vintage photo.

I stamped the post card from Graphic 45, french country, and distressed it with tattered rose, after tugging some in the corners and shaping it I just adhered it with some washi tape from Prima Divine. The little pocket is is stamped again with the Magnolia chicken wire and then with the bumble bee from Graphic 45, French country, same set as the post card.

After that it's flowers galore. I'm tucking flowers everywhere :)
Here I used I am roses paper flowers, but you can find similar flowers in the store from Wild Orchids Craft. They're exaclty the same, I 've been wondering too :)
In the midst I tuck some Magnolia vintage berries in ivory and on the top of the tag is just satin ribbons in different colours and widths. To create some movements I added a garment pin with a butterfly charm.

Finally, the back of the tag is really simple.
I stamped the back of the tag with Magnolia postage stamps and then I distressed a piece of "Scandinavian summer" paper with vintage photo. I then used another postage stamp from the same Magnolia set and stamped over both the tag and the layered paper in order to make it more coherent.

I had a blast making this tag - I could barely stop :)
Let me know if it would be of interest to anyone for me to make a start to finish video tutorial of this tag.

Have a great day!
And please stop by The Rubber Buggy store for more products.

Photo challenge @ AFA!

Happy Sunday everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful Scrapbooking day yesterday!

Upcoming challenge at Anyone for Anya is photo inspired, check it out HERE.

I was inspired by the colours and how soothing the room looks, so here is Me time Anya :)
This is one of my absolute favorites by TGF!

I stamped the little slippers and the sentiments in archival black onto Prima Divine washi tape. Then I tore it to pieces and stuck it on the background as it turned out the background and the die cut from Spellbinders label 22 was to close to each other in colour. All the rest of the embellishment, apart from the 8mm flat back pearl, is from MB's Treasurista. Medium box pleated trim in ivory, coloured with LSG salt water taffy from Nantucket pearls, Mulberry sweet hearts blossoms in light pink and leaf pearl trim in light pink.

I'll see you at the party at Anyone for Anya!

I'll enter this card in TGF's FFF - monochromatic

Scrapbooking again

Lately there has been all kinds of challenges for scrapbookers too, mostly I enter a card.
But now there is sketches for LO provided and that is vital for me. It takes me forever to put a LO together otherwise - LOL!

Here is what I've been working on this weekend.

Firstly,  Get Sketchy Layout Sketch 21 at creating the crafty life.

Superfun to put togethere lots of stamping and spraying, layering of banners and die cuts from scrap paper. I'm so pleased with the result, but nothing if it wasn't for the sketch.

Furthermore, be inspired challenge by Unity stamps.

Another great sketch and I also used the colours from the colour challenge. When I found these photos and saw the colour combo - perfect! Thank God for the be inspired challenges, I love love love how my brain works and gets creative when I see them. But I could not do it without the inspiration provided. So maybe, I could not take credit for creativity at all...?!
Here I used the entire set called specialize in memories, inspired by the Simple Stories "DOCUMENTED" line in khaki and olive green.

I will try to find time to make more, having the best time now as I return to where I started in paper crafting, but taking it to a whole new level thanks to all inspiration provided:)

Have a great weekend and happy US scrapbooking day!
