Sept IAR challenge - A round Halloween card

This month challenge for I am roses is to make a circle card with a Halloween theme. Great fun!! I've been inspired about circle cards since Arlene´s card for La-la-land crafts. So here I had the best excuse to finally cave in and get the scalloped circles framelits - LOL!

But as luck have it, I don't have a single Halloween article in my stash... But fear not, I said to myself. It was the same thing with the school-themed challenge. Also held by IAR and also inspired by Arlene. So I sat down and like Italian Winne the Pooh "Penso, penso, penso..." And this is what I came up with!

The base of the card is black cardstock die cut with the scalloped circle. The other dies cut in black are Cheery Lynn design's garden gate and Tim Holtz's Holly branch - just the branch... In orange paper I die cut MFT's dog tag and cut away the top part with the pre punched hole in. The same orange paper was used to cut the smaller scalloped circle. All orange paper was edged with spiced marmalade and sprayed with Lindy stamp gang marigold yellow orange.

Torn skeleton leaf to act like spider web

Dried glue looks like gooey drippings

I would like to say that this card came together quite fast when I got the idea out in the open. However, I just kept adding flowers and rose buds, which I coloured, thus drying time... There are so many rose buds in there it's crazy. I love IAR products, when I get started, it's hard to stop:)

You can glimpse my only Halloween article in there.
A ticket from Tim Holtz's set odds and ends.

I am roses used:
R22-310, old R21-410
GP2-827, the darkest tone

Dyed with LSG Marigold yellow orange , french lilac violet and Tattered angel's slate.

The birds are from Tim Holtz's mini ornates and stamped in archivals ink jet black.

Dies used:
Alterations Tim Holtz sizzix Holly branch
MFT dog tag
MFT ticket die
Cheery Lynn garden gate
Sizzix framelits scallop circles, the 2 largest

As this card turned out so dimensional I had to fold it backwards in order for it to close properly. You'll see what I mean in this youtube-video.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!!
Have a great upcoming week!

Still inspired by creamy latte

As this week's challenge at Anyone for Anya is one of my absolute favorites to work with, what to do but to let creativity flow - LOL!

The background for this card was found among my scraps. It has a metallic sheen to it and at a close look some linen texture, think cotton sheets. The colour combo is to die for, but I actually used the other side for Christmas cards (four years ago?! - you can imagine the size of my pile of scraps!), it has a vivid pattern i bronze tone on white.

As the paper itself gives the card some shimmer, I did not find the need of LSG's on the flowers. Thus this card came together pretty fast - armed with a glue gun and an ATG:)
The flowers are from I am roses and kawaii flexible mold roses.

Cherry blossom, mix pack of browns, S3 - 827
Rose buds, ivory, T1 - 147
Brown flower, S10 - 40

The image is from the greeting farm, as always - love TGF. The majority of my stamps are from TGF, but that's about to change. I recently won some stamps from C.C design and as I about to design for the rubber buggy who carries Magnolia, Sarah Kay, Mo Manning and Bildmalarna you will soon see some other stamped images - so bare with me:)

I coloured cheeky rockability with:
Face - Ivory, E50 and blush
Hair - E51, E53 and cinnamon
Dress - E50 and soft green
Shoes - Satin

The TGF-FFF is about lace and I had some scrap pieces from my stash in a brown and a green tone. The sentiment is from complimentary greetings set from MFT and are not our BBF one of the heroes in our lifes? I believe so, I am lucky to have such a person, therefore I will cross my fingers and hope this card qualifies for Simon say stamp vintage challenge about heros. The sentiment is stamped on a die cut set from MFT too. The image and die cut are pop up with foam tape, but I left her little leg out and it does add more dimension and depth to the card.

I also entered this card in:
Whimsy stamps - anything goes
Paper crafting journey - my sentiment exactly
Natalie and Amy's - anything goes

If you have any questions, leave a comment.
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Explore the heroes

Simon says stamp vintage challenge this week is heros. I don't have anything resembling heros, but I recently bought this prima stamp set with this beautiful ship which I thought could represent all the heroic explorers you read about in history classes.

The background is distressed with tumbled glass, weathered wood and chipped saphire. I also did some masking and the ship is stamped with archival ink jet black. For embellishment I used the stax labels 1 from MFT, some flowers and a ship wheel from a flexible mold.

I have the honor of being part of the rubber buggy's design team. There are some greatly talented ladies participating. I'm so excited to share the rubber buggy with you soon! Don't forget to check us out!!!

Ta ta for now:)
